Sue Harper

Solicitor

Sue Harper is a solicitor in Turpin Miller’s public law team.

Sue specialises in representing individuals and families challenging Home Office and social services accommodation decisions. She has extensive experience working on an urgent basis to protect vulnerable individuals, and has successfully represented multiple families seeking to resist Home Office attempts to relocate them away from areas where they receive vital support.

In addition, Sue has successfully represented individuals in factually complex challenges to Home Office failures to identify victims of trafficking and decisions denying individuals a right of appeal against immigration refusals. She has also gained significant experience representing vulnerable unaccompanied minors in asylum claims.

Sue takes particular care to ensure her cases are meticulously prepared and that the views of the vulnerable clients she represents are effectively advanced.

Prior to joining Turpin Miller in April 2024, Sue worked as a paralegal at the Public Law Project for four years. Before studying law, Sue worked in horticulture and volunteered with Citizens Advice and various mental health charities.

Sue qualified as a solicitor in December 2025, having joined Turpin Miller in 2024 and completed her training with the firm. As a mature student, Sue undertook an LLB with Human Rights, an LLM in Research Training, and the Legal Practice Course (LPC). She is accredited as a Senior Caseworker by the Law Society.
