eVisas replace visa vignettes from 15 July 2025

Important information for work or study visa holders who are travelling to the UK to work and study.

The Online Immigration Status (eVisa) webpage states that, as of 15 July 2025, work visa holders or students will no longer be issued a visa vignette to be stamped in their passports when applying for entry clearance from abroad.

Instead, they will be required to create a UKVI account and access their eVisa before travelling to the UK. The Home Office confirms that main applicants or dependants on different routes will continue to be issued with visa vignettes.

Visa holders are also reminded that from 2 June 2025 BRP cards will no longer be accepted for international travel, and those wanting to travel abroad will have to create an eVisa to prove their immigration status.
