New 'High Potential Individual' immigration route announced

The new category was announced by the Home Office in its UK Innovation Strategy policy document, published on 22 July 2021.

We will have to wait for a new Statement of Changes as details are still thin on the ground, but here is what we know so far:

It will be open to graduates of ‘top global universities’, though alternative criteria is expected to be announced in due course
It will be unsponsored, meaning that successful applicants will not be tied to a particular employer
It will be a route to settlement

This post will be updated once the Home Office releases more information.
