Paper cut out people

Those claiming benefits, or experiencing a change in life circumstances that may lead to a claim for benefits, are faced with a variety of agencies to deal with, including the Department for Work and Pensions, Local Authorities, Revenue and Customs and the Pension Service. It is often difficult to know what you may be entitled to, how to claim, and how to challenge any refusal of benefit.

Our Welfare Benefits Department can advise on entitlement to all Welfare Benefits, challenges to refusals, overpayments and appeals. In addition, our solicitors can advise regarding Judicial Review of unreasonable decisions, or unreasonable delays. We have experience in representing clients at Appeal Tribunals for all benefits, in relation to both entitlement and recovery of overpayments, as well as providing written submissions where attendance is unnecessary.

In addition, we specialise in advising on entitlement for EEA nationals or their family members, as well as assisting those who live in a 'mixed household' with someone subject to immigration control.

Funding

We have a variety of levels of fee earners who can offer different private rates and some types of work can be completed on a fixed fee basis.

We also have a contract to provide legal aid if the client is eligible.

Location

Our welfare benefits team is based in Oxford and can also offer appointments at a location convenient for you.
